- Level: High School
- Grades: Enrolled in 9-12
- Length: 18 days
Do you have the desire to tackle problems through design? Do you enjoy learning how and why things work? At the National Student Leadership Conference Engineering Intensive, you’ll explore various fields in engineering and decide if engineering is the career for you!
During this 18-day program, you will learn from top engineering experts and meet with successful researchers and professors. Learning from their experiences, you will take away valuable lessons and insight that will help guide you as you pursue a career in engineering.
Engineering Design Challenges
Compete in different challenges from various fields of engineering including mechanical, civil, biomedical and electrical.
Your main simulation will be an air, land and water robotics challenge. You will design and build an underwater ROV, an RC car and a line-following car throughout the 18-day program.
Meet Engineering Professionals
Throughout the program, you’ll meet leaders in the engineering field during exclusive trips and tours. Go behind-the-scenes during visits to top companies, labs and research institutions.
Dates & Locations
At the NSLC you and your peers will engage in intensive, hands-on simulations and workshops. Through building an underwater robot and competing in a variety of design challenges and workshops, you will explore engineering and all that it has to offer. Through a research project and presentation, you will tackle issues facing professional engineers today.
